Kano police arrest suspects, recover four stolen vehicles, others

The Kano State Police Command has recorded significant successes in four separate cases, including the arrest of suspected armed robbers, motor vehicle thieves, and the recovery of four suspected stolen motor vehicles, a motorcycle and other valuable items.

The details of the cases are as follows:

i. On 23rd May 2025, at about 11:00am, a report was received from a resident of Abuja that one Manassa Luper Isreal, ‘m’, of the same address, stole his motor vehicle – Mercedes Benz Container, white in color. A team of detectives assigned the case arrested the suspect while trying to sell the vehicle in Kano. The vehicle was also recovered.

iii. On 28th May 2025, at about 12:00pm, acting on credible information, a team of Police operatives arrested a suspected member of an armed robbery syndicate; one Murtala Wada, ‘m’, 23 years old, of Hotoro, Ladanai Quarters, kano, that operates along Maiduguri road, Kano State. During the operation, a Toyota Siena with two different number plates and a Qlink Motorcycle were recovered from the suspect.

iii. On 8th May 2025, at about 04:00am, based on credible information, a team of the Command’s operatives intercepted a suspected stolen motor vehicle – Opel Astra, black in color, loaded with textile materials and other goods. The suspect ran away and abandoned the motor vehicle.

iv. On 21st May 2025 at about 2:00pm, a team of the Command’s detectives acting on credible information, recovered the following stolen items: a motor vehicle – Hyundai Elantra, a Suzuki Lady’s motorcycle, five (5) Electric Motors, an Alternator, two (2) Roller Machines, and two (2) Mixer Machines.

The cases are currently under investigation and will be charged to court upon completion.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, minps, masis commended the efforts of the officers involved in these operations, and reaffirms the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the State.
