The Kano State Police Command has returned a recovered stolen motor vehicle to its rightful owner, Dr. Yusuf Samuel Shaho of Zaria City, Kaduna State.
The vehicle, ash in colour, was recovered by the Anti-Car Theft Unit, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), on December 28, 2024.
Kano police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said in a statement on Wednesday that rhe recovery was made possible by the timely response of the Anti-Car Theft Unit to a report of an abandoned vehicle.
“Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the principal suspect, Bala Sani, a 40-year-old male from Funtua LGA, Katsina State.
“The owner, Dr. Yusuf, reported to the Police Public Relations Office, Kano State Command, with proof of ownership, following a call to action by the Command.
“The vehicle was handed over to him on the instruction of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba.
“CP Salman Dogo Garba commended the owner for coming forward with proof of ownership and appreciated the efforts of the Police Officers involved in the recovery of the vehicle,” the statement said.
