The Kano State Police Command has recovered two stolen tricycles and handed them back to their owners.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

“The recovery was made possible through a well-coordinated intelligence-led raid on criminal hideouts in Dambatta LGA, Kano State, on December 9, 2024.

“The owners of the two tricycles appeared at the command’s headquarters and proved ownership.

“The first tricycle, with registration number KGM 246VC, was stolen after the suspects drugged the tricycle rider, Mamman Musa. The victim received medical treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano and was later discharged.

“The second tricycle, with registration number KMC 319 VK, was also stolen using the same modus operandi. The owner, Sani Ismail, appeared at the Command’s Headquarters and proved ownership,” Kiyawa said.

He added that the two suspects, Ado Yusuf (40) and Rabi’u Suleiman (35), who were found in possession of the tricycles, have been charged to Magistrate Court No. 45 Gyadi Gyadi Kano for prosecution.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, warned the tricycle operators to be cautious of passengers and avoid conveying suspected people to isolated places.
