- Gov sets up 5-member committee to oversee project
The Katsina State Executive Council has resolved to convert the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management into Information Communication Technology University.
The resolution was passed during the 9th State Executive Council meeting presided by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Thursday.
“This is borne out of our vision and commitment to position Katsina State to become a digital and ICT excellence hub in no distant time in Nigeria,” the governor said on his social media handles.
Gov Radda added “I have set up a five-man committee chaired by the Commissioner of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, Professor Abdulhamid Ahmed Mani, to oversee the full implementation of this massive project.”
Also in a tweet, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media, Isah Miqdad, said the conversion “is in line with the vision of Governor Radda to create an enabling environment for investment in technology and digital literacy.”
