Katsina gov graces Daura durbar fiesta, assures traditional rulers of more support

Emir of Daura commends Governor Radda's giant strides

The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda graced the popular annual durbar in Daura known as “Sallar Gani” which is held to celebrate Maulud.

The Governor was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, and his Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Turaji.

The Governor and his entourage were received by the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahya Daura.

The event showcased a colorful display of Daura’s rich cultural heritage, with traditional title holders from the emirate parading on horseback, accompanied by drummers playing various praise songs.

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq, speaking through the Danejin Daura, Alhaji Abdulmumini Salihu, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda, stating, “We appreciate the Governor’s proactive approach in implementing various policies aimed at improving the lives of our people.”

The Emir particularly commended the Governor’s commitment to addressing security challenges in the state.

The Emir further noted, “The Radda-led administration’s efforts in clearing outstanding death gratuities and the ongoing payments to retirees have significantly benefited the families left behind by departed civil servants.”

While pledging the continued support of traditional rulers to the state government, the Emir called on members of the legislature to remain steadfast partners in ensuring the rapid development of the state.

Governor Radda, in his response, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Katsina State while simultaneously driving forward-thinking policies for the benefit of all residents.
