Kebbi Islamic scholar Sheikh Usman Damana passes on

A Kebbi State-based Islamic scholar Sheikh Dr. Abubakar Usman Damana has passed on.

The scholar, who was the deputy leader of the Council of Ulama of Izalatil Bidah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) with headquarter in Jos, Plateau State and the Chief Imam of Geese Phase 1 Juma’ah mosque in Birnin Kebbi, died on Wednesday.

According to his students, the scholar delivered his last periodic lesson on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, where addressed the topic of death and inheritance.

His funeral prayers will hold today at 2PM at the Geese Phase 1 Juma’ah mosque in Birnin Kebbi.

In his condolence message, former governor of Kebbi State, Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero, expressed sadness over the death of Sheikh Dr. Usman Damana.

The Senator also described the death as a profound loss to the Islamic community, adding that Dr. Damana was a pillar, humble elder statesman, and a key contributor to education in Kebbi State and beyond.

Aliero encouraged the grieving family to find strength in their faith and prayed that they endure this loss with fortitude. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to make Jannah the final abode of Dr. Damana.
