Kuriga kidnap: Education minister Sununu pays solidarity visit to Kaduna

The Honorable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Yusuf Tanko Sununu visited Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani in a show of support and solidarity over the Kuriga school children’s abduction.

The governor stated this on Tuesday in a statement on his social media handles.

The minister expressed the deep concern of the Ministry over the unfortunate incident, stating that it is a major setback in the efforts at reducing the number of out – of – school children.

He assured the state government that the Ministry will deploy more resources to help with psychosocial support to victims and parents in Kuriga community.

Governor Sani said “In my remarks, I reiterated that Education is one of the priorities of our administration, and reducing the number of out-of-school children is a key aspect.

“I assured him that the actions of bandits rather than slow down our educational drive, will make us to redouble our efforts in giving our children quality education. We shall work assiduously to make our schools safe for learning.

“We shall work with security agencies to secure our schools. I thanked the Honorable Minister for his visit and show of sympathy.”
