The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, have visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The meeting, which held at Obasanjo’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) at the weekend, was disclosed by Kwankwasoon his X handle.
He said the discussions centered on “significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria.”
“I was pleased to be in the company of my friend, HE Donald Duke, and other associates to pay a courtesy call on President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta.
“Deliberations on significant national issues, including the future of politics and governance in Nigeria, defined the conversation,” Kwankwaso said.
He thanked Obasanjo for his “warm support and hospitality” during the visit, which he described as a valuable exchange of ideas.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the visit to Obasanjo by Kwankwaso and Duke has sparked rumours of the possibility of having the two politicians on the same presidential ticket.
