Robert Lewandowski is already at Bayern Munich’s pre-season training camp, which may come as a blow to Barcelona who are hoping to sign him this summer.
The Polish striker is following the established plan, as he went on Tuesday at the clinic where the Bavarians will carry out medical tests.
According to Sky journalist Torben Hoffmann, Lewandowski and the rest of his teammates will undergo heart and lung tests.
Various reports claimed that Lewandowski could miss the start to Bayern Munich’s preseason preparations in his bid to force a move to Barcelona.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and Barcelona hope that Lewandowski will not travel with his team to the United States for Bayern Munich’s pre-season tour.
The Blaugrana want to sign Lewandowski as soon as possible, with the Polish striker being reportedly close to joining Xavi Hernandez’s team.
However, Bayern do not seem willing to give in. They have made clear that Lewandowski has a contract with the club until 2023 and will not leave this summer.
Despite their financial struggles, Barcelona are trying to sing one of the best strikers in Europe.
It now remains to be seen if the club could raise funds to spend in such a transfer and whether the two parties will strike a deal.
