Kylian Mbappe has been offered a record-breaking new deal by Paris Saint-Germain, in a bid to prevent him from leaving the club.
Mbappe, who has four months left on his current contract, would earn approximately one million euros which would make him the highest paid footballer in the world.
It’s a figure which no club would be able to match, including Real Madrid where Mbappe was widely expected to join in the summer.
PSG sporting director Leonardo said Mbappe turned down a very lucrative offer last year, and he has made a final effort to retain the French star.
Mbappe is yet to discuss his future beyond this season, as PSG are involved in a Last 16 Champions League tie against Real Madrid, and it was Mbappe who scored a late winner in the first leg on Tuesday.
Real Madrid are confident Mbappe will play for them, but PSG are not prepared to let the forward go easily as the saga appears to have taken another twist.
