Minister of Power Engr Sale Mamman has announced that the Engineers of the Transmission Company of Nigeria have successfully restored electricity back to Maiduguri and Environs despite the huge security challenges they faced.
“My commendations to them and the Management of the TCN. A job well done,” the minister said in a terse message on his social media handles on Thursday.
Dateline Nigeria reports that residents of Maiduguri and environs were thrown into a blackout following the destruction of one of the towers supplying electricity to the city from the national grid by Boko Haram insurgents.
