NAK Academy, Funtua, has graduated a total of 195 students comprising 75 Senior Secondary School (SSS) students and 120 Junior Secondary School (JSS) students during the third graduation ceremony of its sixth graduating set.
Speaking at the event, the Principal of the academy, Alhaji Salisu Gambo, welcomed parents, guests and members of staff, thanking them for attending the occasion. He expressed appreciation to the proprietor of the academy for his significant investment in education and commended parents for their support.
According to the principal, the academy is committed not only to academic excellence but also to developing students’ communication, public speaking and entrepreneurial skills while instilling sound moral values.
The Proprietor of NAK Academy, Alhaji Akilu Babai, the Sardaunan Funtua, who was represented by Shaikh Salisu Khalil, congratulated the graduating students and urged them to uphold good character wherever they go. He reminded them that graduation marks the beginning of a lifelong journey in the pursuit of knowledge.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Engineer Muhammad Tukur, the Dokajin Funtua and a parent of one of the graduates, encouraged the students to continue their education and remain focused on achieving greater academic success.
Another parent, Dr. Salisu Hassan, described education as one of the most valuable investments any society can make. He observed that while some countries are neglecting the education sector, developed nations continue to invest heavily in education because of its enormous potential.
He noted that scientific innovation, technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have become major drivers of economic growth and national development. Dr. Hassan also called on the academy’s proprietor to further motivate members of staff through improved welfare and capacity-building programmes.
In his remarks, Alhaji Hassan Aminu, Human Resources Manager of NAK General Merchant, advised the graduating students to be worthy ambassadors of their alma mater by maintaining exemplary conduct wherever they find themselves.
The graduation ceremony also showcased the creativity and innovation of the students through a number of exhibitions and practical demonstrations.
One of the highlights was a biogas project in which a student produced environmentally friendly cooking gas using poultry waste, water and catalysts as an alternative energy source.
Students also presented a model of the proposed NAK Estate, while science students conducted an impressive laboratory demonstration that attracted the admiration of guests.
The colourful ceremony featured the presentation of gifts, awards and cultural performances, celebrating the academic achievements and talents of the graduating students.
