Namibia’s Chanique Rabe has become the first African to be crowned Miss Supranational, after beating 57 other hopefuls on Saturday.

Ms Rabe, a model and fashion designer, won the beauty pageant which was held at Nowy Sącz, Poland.

She took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the win, saying “my heart is so unbelievably grateful and happy.”

Thato Mosehle also made history as the first woman of colour to represent South Africa at the pageant.

She was awarded second runner up, and congratulated all her fellow winners in an Instagram post.

“This one is for you South Africa,” she wrote in one post. “Thank you for believing in me.” (BBC)
