He further expressed his appreciation to the host community, its leaders and all the other stakeholders involved in the process.

“Watching the contractors plug the leak and tighten the bolts to hold the clamp in place was gratifying. This memory will live with me for forever!.

“Our appreciation and gratitude go to the members of the host communities, the community leaders that stood up to be counted, and the hardworking and indefatigable Goverment Security Agencies, NNPC staff, and contractors involved throughout the process.”

The Trans Niger Pipeline which is located and and runs through Bodo Community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State is a critical asset to Nigeria’s crude export as it carries Nigeria’s crude oil, Bonny Light, to an export terminal.

According to Shell, the pipeline transports around 180,000 barrels per day of crude oil to the Bonny6 Export Terminal and is part of the gas liquids evacuation infrastructure, critical for continued domestic power generation and liquefied natural gas exports.
