The new Emir of Kontagora Alhaji Muhammadu Barau Muazu has received his letter of appointment as the 7th Sarkin Sudan Kontagora.
Niger State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Emmanuel Umar, presented the letter to the new monarch on Friday.
The historic event took place at the Government House Minna.
Muhammadu Barau Muazu succeeded Alhaji Saidu Namaska, who reigned for 47 years from 1974 to 2021. He is also the grandson of Sarkin Sudan Muazu Ibrahim, who died in 1974.
