The Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Agricultural Development Fund, Engineer Muhammad Abu Ibrahim, has assumed office.
He took over from Dr Dozani Mohammed during a brief session presided over by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari and the Minister of State Sen Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi in Abuja.
While thanking the outgoing head of the agency for his patriotic service to the nation in the last few months, the Minister commended the transition calling it a rare event judging by the relationship between the two men.
“When the new ES was announced, the outgoing one immediately called to congratulate him and ever since then, they’ve both been working together to have a seamless transition.
“The outgoing ES has barely spent five months and he’s in the process of kickstarting the fund which is new, establishing it, and ensuring its smooth take-off. The outgoing ES is still part of the system as we will ensure maximum collaboration with him.
“I wish him well in his endeavors but he should not stay away from us because we know his capabilities and what he can contribute to the agricultural sector.” the minister said.
Dateline Nigeria reports that former President Muhammadu Buhari signed the National Agricultural Development Fund bill (NADF) into law in December 2022 and appointed its first executive secretary on May 26, 2023, three days before leaving office.
