The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has welcomed a delegation from the Financial Intelligence Units of Mauritius and Ethiopia on a familiarisation visit aimed at exploring NFIU’s state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge ICT platforms for financial analysis.
The visitors Mr. Sawan Gutteea from FIU Mauritius and Abdulhamid Abdulwahab from FIU Ethiopia were received by the Director and Chief Executive Officer (NFIU), Hafsat Abubakar Bakari, and her management team in her office in Abuja on Wednesday.
The NFIU boss expressed her delight with the visit which aimed to enhance knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration among African Financial Intelligence Units.
The two officials were taken round some offices and shown some of the facilities available at the NFIU by the Chief of Staff to the Director/CEO, Mohammed Shahid Ahmed.
The visit of the officials followed their participation at a recently concluded training workshop for African FIU regions by the Egmont Centre of Excellence and Leadership (ECOFEL).
