Nigerian student Rukayya Nata’ala dies in India

A Nigerian student in India, Rukayya Nata’ala, has died in India after a protracted illness, according to the Association of African Students in India (AASI).

The Association disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Condolence’ on its Facebook page on Thursday.

“We deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of our friends and colleagues Miss Rukayya Nata’ala from Nigeria. She is a student at Sharda University, MSc. Computer Science, Second Year. She died yesterday at Sharda Hospital, after a brief illness.

“We pray for Allah to have mercy on her and forgive all her shortcomings, and grant her Jannatul Firdaus. Amin

“We pray for her family and friends to find the fortitude to bear this great loss. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences and prayers

“The funeral (Salatul Janaza) will be held today (29th October) at 1 pm at Nazamuddeen, New Delhi,” it added.

Aminu Rabiu Tela, a Nigerian based in New Delhi, in a tribute, described the late Rukayya as “a decent and responsible who went to India to further her education”.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and strengthen her family.
