Nigerians are set to enjoy two months of free electricity as Distribution Companies (DisCos) aligned with the federal government to lessen the impact of the COVID-19 on peoples income.
The Executive Director, Research and Advocacy at the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED), Barrister Sunday Oduntan disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday night.
“We are also completely aligned with the plans to ensure palliative measures, including free electricity supply to all Nigerians for two months, to make life easier, during the lockdown period. Details of implementation to come soon.”
The statement commended members of the National Assembly and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in this regard.
