The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman has paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Bashir Jamoh in Apapa office.
The NPA MD called for more synergy with NIMASA, Nigerian Shippers Council and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) for greater efficiency and service delivery.
She said NIMASA and NPA are sister Agencies and should be seen to be collaborating more for the growth of the maritime industry and the country generally.
The NPA boss also disclosed that arrangements are in top gear to berth the NIMASA floating Dockyard permanently in order for it to commence operations in July.
The two agreed to collaborate and work out modalities on the effective removal of wrecks and derelicts that have the tendency of affecting vessels navigations in the Nigerian waters.
