NPF cybercrime centre reassures NECA of commitment to digital policing

The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja welcomed a delegation from the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), led by its Director-General, Mr. Wale-Smatt Oyerinde.

The visit, which built on an earlier engagement between NECA’s leadership and the Inspector-General of Police, was more than a courtesy call — it was a testament to the growing national confidence in the NPF-NCCC as a credible, capable, and forward-looking institution in Nigeria’s cybercrime response architecture.

The delegation toured the Center, studied its operations firsthand, and held frank discussions on where collaboration could make the most meaningful difference. What they found, by their own account, impressed them.

They commended the Inspector-General of Police and the officers and men of the NPF-NCCC for their professionalism, dedication, and the quiet but serious work being done within those walls every day.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, the Director of the NPF-NCCC, CP Akaninyene Ezima, made one thing clear — the Nigeria Police Force is not waiting for the future of digital policing to arrive.

Under the leadership of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, it is actively building it. He expressed appreciation to the NECA delegation for the visit and, more importantly, for their stated willingness to roll up their sleeves and support the Center’s work.

The Inspector-General of Police reiterates the Force’s commitment to securing Nigeria’s digital space and assures all Nigerians that the NPF-NCCC will continue to evolve, collaborate, and lead in the fight against cybercrime.
