NSCDC takes delivery of 20 operational vehicles from Zamfara govt

The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has reiterated the importance of synergy among security agencies in combating terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminality in the country.

The CG made this emphasis while delivering a keynote address at the commissioning and distribution ceremony of 140 operational vehicles procured by the Zamfara State Government for various security agencies in Gusau.

Dr. Audi, who is currently on an operational tour of the North-West region and served as the Special Guest of Honour at the event, stated that “it has become increasingly clear that no single security agency possesses the operational capability to tackle the evolving security challenges alone.”

He expressed optimism that there is light at the end of the tunnel, noting that state actors are effectively deploying the three Cs—Coordination, Cooperation, and Collaboration—to confront the situation head-on.

The NSCDC helmsman assured the government and people of Zamfara State that the vehicles would be put to judicious use, enhancing the Corps’ operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Dauda Lawal, explained that the distribution marks his second year in office and underscores his administration’s commitment to delivering tangible benefits to the people, in line with his campaign promises.

The Governor emphasized that only a peaceful and secure environment can foster development.

He therefore urged citizens to collaborate with conventional security agencies and the state-owned security outfit, the Community Protection Guard, to stem the tide of insecurity.

The NSCDC Zamfara State Command received 20 of the operational vehicles distributed among the security agencies operating in the state.
