Olawale Fasanya emerges acting SMEDAN boss

Mr Olawale Fasanya has been appointed as Acting Director General, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

This followed the resignation of the former DG Dr Dikko Umaru Radda who has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State.

Mr Fasanya’s acting appointment was approved by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.

This is contained in a statement by the ministry’s Director (Policy, Planning, Research & Statistics) Baba Gana Alkali on Tuesday

“I am directed to convey the Honourable Minister’s approval for you to act as Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency
of Nigeria (SMEDAN) following the resignation of the DG on 18th April 2022.

“Accordingly, you are to take over responsibilities of the Administration of
the Agency from the out-going Director-General who resigned on 18th April, 2022
following his decision to contest for Governorship election in Katsina State.

“You are to continue in that capacity until a substantive Director-General is appointed,” the statement said.
