Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has nominated a former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, as his deputy.
The nomination comes few hours after the dissolution of the Ondo State Executive Council, and sacking of political appointees.
Adelami, a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2020.
Aiyedatiwa has therefore forwarded his name to the state House of Assembly for ratification.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed the nomination of the deputy governor.
Adelami, from the Owo area of the state, retired from the National Assembly in April 2018.
Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa has appointed Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Tuykana) as the Secretary to the government of the state
