The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru has said his administration will focus on tackling the security challenges in the state.
He stated this during an interview on Arise TV, as part of his Five Point Agenda for the state.
Ashiru said as someone who has been part of the system for almost thirty years, he has a lot to offer to the people of Kaduna State.
Speaking further on his agenda, Ashiru said he will reunite the people of Kaduna State because as far as he is concerned, the people are divided along tribal and religious lines.
On the insecurity bedevilling the state, Ashiru said he will work with traditional leaders to ensure no part of the state is left behind. He added that he will take “drastic measures to make sure traditional leaders return to their respective domains.”
When asked on continuing with some legacy projects under Governor El-Rufai, Ashiru said he believes government is continuity. “I will never stop any project that is to the benefit of my people.”
On the issue of Southern Kaduna, Ashiru said he will ensure justice and fairness in the distribution of resources in the state. He added that in the past, “we brought tribal and religious groups under one umbrella to advise the government reasonably and suggested solutions to the problems, especially in southern Kaduna. We took those decisions and peace was restored.”
