Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has expressed confidence that with its human capital, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has the capacity to resolve its differences and take over power from All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2027.
Governor Bala, who is the Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, said this today when he received the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, led by its Chairman and former Senate President Chief Adolphus Wabara in Bauchi.
He said the party the can be repositioned to wrest power from APC in 2027 despite its current crisis, adding that it has the capacity to deliver Nigeria from its current woes because the visits of the BoT members Is part of efforts to rebuild the party.
He assured that the visits of the BoT and a delegation of the National Working Committee (NWC) to Bauchi was a source of encouragement.
Governor Bala said that “I am very optimistic of PDP reclaiming power in 2027 and I am encouraged by the visits of the BOT and the NWC, and the resolve of the governors to close ranks”
He said that the resolution PDP of the governors to close ranks would surmount whatever obstacles in the party.
The governors’ forum had resolved to back Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers in line with the constitution of the PDP.
Governor Bala said the forum’s decision was also supported by the BOT and the NWC.
He said FCT Minister Nyesom Wike remains a key member of the PDP though his decision to serve in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was bizarre.
“But there is no challenge that is insurmountable,” Mohammed stated. “It will be surmounted by the grace of God and we will find a solution that. It is only PDP with the experience of governors and what have you that is being challenged.
“You will notice that the crisis is a creation of the other side who want us to be in disarray. They always want to have moles within us, they always want to have knowledge of what is going on.
“Even Wike that is in APC, is PDP and he is performing very well because they (APC) don’t have people that will perform like our members that is why they picked him and gave him a structure to run.
“To us it’s a commendation that irrespective of the bizarre situation it is a recognition that PDP has the capital to deliver Nigeria”
