Thr emergence of former Governor of Kaduna State as Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has been hailed as a right step in the right direction.
A political support group known as Makarfi Ambassadors said this in a statement on Wednesday. The statement was signed by the group’s Coordinator General Abdullahi Ahned and Coordinator, Planning and Strategy, Eng Aina Bolade
Dateline Nigeria reports that the PDP BoT confirmed Makarfi as its secretary and Senator Adolphus Wabara as Chairman in a communique issued after its meeting on Tuesday.
“Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi is a bridge builder, goal-getter and strategic politician who will help the PDP in its rebuilding efforts.
“We see this as a step in the right direction, a round peg in a round hole. No doubt, the PDP is on its way to being great again. All stakeholders should therefore recommit themselves to the PDP in ready for the transformation at hand,” the duo said in the statement.
Dateline Nigeria reports that Makarfi is a former chairman of the PDP and a former presidential candidate of the party.
