Fire has gutted the barracks housing Police Mounted Troops in Kabala Doki area of Kaduna metropolis.
The cause of the fire, which left property worth millions of naira destroyed , is still unknown as at the time of this report.
No life was lost in the incidence which happened when families were celebrating Christmas.
A Dateline Nigeria reporter who was at the scene said absence of hydrant in the facility frustrated efforts to extinguish the fire quickly as the firefighting vehicle which arrived in good time had to leave shortly after.
Residents had to resort to fetching water in buckets and other containers, which allowed the fire to further cause damage to the building and facilities inside.
