Police arrest driver conniving with kidnappers

A driver who set up Kano passengers to be abducted by kidnappers has been arrested.

Bashir Sule was arrested by men of the police anti-kidnapping team.

Sule, 25, was among suspected criminals paraded by the Police in Abuja.

The Force spokesperson, CP Frank Mba, said the suspect was arrested after credible intelligence exposing his modus operandi in luring potential victims to the den of kidnappers.

PRNigeria learnt that the suspects operated along Janguza and Rijin Zaki communities within the axis of the permanent site of Bayero University Kano (BUK).

The criminal, it was gathered, masqueraded as a driver or passenger at road-side car parks to either pick passengers or pretend to be a passenger and join other commercial vehicles.

During his parade, Sule described how he lured passengers to kidnappers’ den.

He said “After picking passengers or in a commercial vehicle, I secretly sent signals to colleague kidnappers to ambush the vehicle at some routes within. They would then abduct the passengers at the designated location.” (PRNigeria)
