The Cross River Command of the Nigeria Police’s Anti-Cultism Squad captured two suspected drug dealers on Old Market Road in Ugep town, Yakurr LGA.
Speaking to press on Friday, Gyogon Grimah, the state Commissioner of Police, said the arrest was successful due to credible intelligence and the squad’s rapid raid of the area.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Bassey Bassey, 21, and Christopher Okoi, 23, were arrested following the operation.
According to Grimah, an on-the-spot search was done, and the suspects were in possession of chemicals suspected to be hard drugs.
According to Grimah, the suspects possessed 27 wraps of Ice, 110 wraps of Colos, 16 wraps of Loud, and seven Big.
Other things discovered included a laptop, three Android phones, two power banks, a scale, an MP3 player, and N1.3 million in cash.
He stated that the suspects had confessed to the crime and that an extensive investigation was underway to identify the sources of supply.
He further stated that the suspects would be charged promptly following the completion of the inquiry.
