“They asked us to give them N15m, but they later reduced it to N5m after I said I could not pay the first amount.”

The 10-year-old girl, Aisha, also narrated how she was kidnapped from her parent’s house, adding that she spent five days in captivity.

Both the father and the freed victim said the kidnappers should be killed because “they have no reason to live.”

The father said the kidnappers should be killed same with his daughter. She said they lied to them that broken pipe when she came to check they stole her. Said they had been drugging her food five days in their custody.

The female suspect, Khadija, said one Khalid asked her to go to Layin Amaso and take the girl from some boys saying that “I should help him keep her. I told him that I didn’t have a place to keep her and I was scared.

“I have all the chats between us. Yesterday he called me and asked me to delete the messages but I didn’t. When I collected the girl, I took her to this man’s house in Sabon Gari and gave him money to feed her.

“I first gave him N10,000, then N5,000 and N3,000 twice. Yesterday I gave him another N5,000. Khalid was the one sending me the money and I didn’t know why he abducted the girl.”

But the male suspect said Khadija called him on phone and he asked her to meet him because the issue should not be discussed over the phone.

“She said I should help her keep the girl as she will be going to work for three days. I agreed, but I told her I didn’t have the money to feed the girl and I used to go out. And the girl will never talk when I am at home. But when I go out, she will be talking.

“Khadija collected the girl on Sunday, and the following day she said she wanted to return her,” he said.
