The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has directed the Muslims Ummah in the country to start looking for the new crescent of Rajab 1444 AH on Sunday the 29th day of Jumada Assani 1444 AH, equivalent to 22th of January 2023
This is contained in a statement signed by the chairman advisory committee on religious affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.
He said, if sighted, the information should be forwarded to the nearest village or district head for onward communication to the Sultan of Sokoto.
The month of Ramadan will be two months away with the sighting of the new moon.
