Re: First class graduate thanks Gov. Buni for automatic job offer

People are saying this appointment happened only because the lady is from a rich and connected family. That she was allowed access to the Governor because her father is part of the government. If not, she would not have been singled out.

She is not the only first class graduate produced by Yobe State University. There are many first class graduates across other departments who have completed their studies with excellent results but were never recognised, invited, or offered automatic employment. Authorities should go round the university and verify how many first class graduates exist and treat everyone equally.

When government actions appear selective, it discourages hardworking students and creates the impression that merit alone is not enough without connection. This is painful for parents who struggled to sponsor their children and for students who believed excellence would speak for itself.

A government that truly believes in fairness should ensure equal opportunity, transparency, and justice for all, not just for those with influence. Only then will people believe that hard work is genuinely rewarded.
