Real Madrid always aspire to win every trophy – Ramos

Sergio Ramos isn’t taking anything for granted as Real Madrid prepare to begin the defence of their LaLiga Santander title.

Los Blancos start their season with a trip to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad on Sunday.

“A new season begins,” Ramos said.

“We were league and Supercopa [de Espana] champions in the past, but you can’t live in the past in football.

“We’re really looking forward to it.

“It’s been a hard and intense pre-season and, despite the circumstances, we’ve been able to work well at Valdebebas doing lots of preparation work, although I went off with the national team.

“Real Madrid aspire to [win] every trophy and we’re going to try to start in the best way possible to send a message to the world of what we want to do this season.”

“The objective is to aspire to [win] every trophy.

“We have to go little by little, step by step, game by game, but we aspire to win everything and so we have to start well, with good intensity and a good rhythm so the season doesn’t seem as long.”

The 34-year-old feels as though he’s prepared, personally, for the challenges that lie ahead, too.

“I’ve worked hard this summer because football is preparation, diet and rest,” Ramos added.

“I’m very happy here and really looking forward to the start of the season.”
