Africa’s richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote has paid a courtesy call on BUA Group Chairman Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu at the BUA Group Headquarters in Lagos.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the visit to BUA Group by Dangote shows a form of reconciliation between the two billionaires who have interest in cement and similar commodities across Nigeria and Africa. In 2017, the BUA Group accused Dangote group of trying to monopolise the cement market and asked the President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene.
“It was an honour for me to receive my friend and brother, Alhaji, in my office today. I share his vision and aspirations in transforming and industrializing our beloved country, Nigeria. Thank you so much, Alhaji, for the honour.” Abdulsamad Rabiu said of the visit.
According to Forbes 2020 Rankings, Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group retained his spot as the World’s richest black person with a fortune of USD10.1 billion. Mike Adenuga, Chairman of Globacom is second in Nigeria and third in Africa with a fortune of USD7.7 billion whilst Abdul Samad Rabiu of BUA Group was 3rd in Nigeria and 8th in Africa with a fortune of USD3.13 billion, moving up eight places from last year’s ranking.
