
First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with the wife of Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed, held national prayer session for peace, unity, and progress in Bauchi.
The exercise was followed by a generous distribution of food items to vulnerable citizens under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The event, themed “The National Prayer Session for Peace, Unity, and Progress,” served as a solemn call for national reflection and collective spiritual renewal in the face of prevailing socio-economic and security challenges.
The prayer sessions brought together religious leaders, government officials, women groups, youth representatives, and community stakeholders to seek divine intervention for peace and progress in Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking during the event, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the North East Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), described the prayer session as a demonstration of shared values and aspirations in these trying times.
“This prayer season, organized in collaboration with my office and that of the Wife of the President, is a testament to our collective commitment to fostering peace, unity, and harmony among the people of Bauchi State and our beloved nation,” she said.
She said that the Renewed Hope Initiative is not just about spiritual reflection, but also practical interventions aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians. To this end, the initiative facilitated the distribution of essential food items to citizens of Bauchi State.
Wife of Bauchi Governor said “Our strength as a people lies in our unity, and our faith is a powerful force for transformation. Today, we pray not only for Bauchi State but for the entire country. We pray for peace, healing, and the prosperity of our dear nation,”
Hajiya Aishatu said the food relief includes 2,200 bags of rice—of which 500 bags have been received and distributed, while the rest will be delivered as soon as they arrive. Other items distributed include 300 cartons of vegetable oil, 1,200 cartons of spaghetti, and 500 bags of sugar.
“While we initially aimed to distribute larger quantities, we are grateful for the support received and remain dedicated to ensuring these provisions reach those most in need,” she emphasized.
Beyond emergency relief, the Renewed Hope Initiative has rolled out several empowerment programs targeting women and youth across the state.
These include: Youth Agricultural Support Program, which trained 100 youths and disbursed N9.2 million in financial support; Women Agricultural Support Program, which empowered 150 women with N36 million in total;
Every Home A Garden Initiative, supporting 60 women with home gardening skills and grants totaling N9.2 million.
“These programs are designed to empower individuals, promote self-sufficiency, and contribute to the overall development of our communities,” Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed noted.
She caller for sustained efforts to build a united and prosperous society and thanked Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her dedication to the welfare of the people.
“Let us continue to work hand in hand to build a peaceful, prosperous, and harmonious Bauchi State and Nigeria,” she added.
In their separate Speeches after the Prayer Session clerics at the occasion. expressed their appreciation for the First Ladies’ efforts and urged for continuity of such people-centered initiatives.”
They advised government at all levels to do their best and bring programmes that will make life easier to the common man.
They prayed to Allah to bring sustainable peace in the 36 states of the Federation and pray to Allah to end all security and socio economic challenges in the country.
