Reopening: ABU awaits Kaduna govt’s approval

The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has informed students, parents and the general public that it is still awaiting approval from Kaduna State Government for the reopening of the Institution.

This is contained in a statement on Sunday by the ABU Director, Public Affairs Directorate, Malam Auwalu Umar.

“The State Government sent a verification team to the University on Wednesday, 20th January, 2021 to specifically assess ABU’s compliance with COVID-19 preventive protocols.

“The University has indeed enjoyed the tremendous cooperation of the team during the assessment tour.

“It would be recalled that the University had on Tuesday, 12th January, 2021 announced its decision to reopen for resumption of academic activities on Monday, 25th January, 2021 subject to further directives issued by the Federal and Kaduna State Governments,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, University Management has reassured all students, parents and other stakeholders that whatever decision communicated to the Institution will be
conveyed to them immediately for further action.
