Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West) has procured 80 trucks of assorted fertiliser and 30 trucks of 50kg bags of rice for distribution to the people of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Tuesday by the Chairman, Sen. Yari Publicity Committee, Ibrahim Muhammad.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 80 trucks of assorted fertiliser would be sold to farmers at 50 per cent discount across the state for the wet season farming activities.
“Similarly, the 30 trucks of 50kg bags of rice are to be distributed to various categories of across the state ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
“The annual gesture to the farmers aimed at assisting them to participate in farming activities to enhance food production.
“The rice will be distributed to the beneficiaries free of charge across the state, each bag will be distributed among five persons,” Muhammad added. (NAN)
