Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia (APC, Jigawa North-East) has launched the Girls ride to school programme (EDUKEKE) and Best brains interschool quiz competition at the Hadejia new sports complex.
The senator also laid foundation for the construction of Hadejia new sports complex. The supporting infrastructure support components I.e 5 aside, Badminton and Basketball.
The EduKeke scheme, which saw the donation of 800 Bicycles to the rural girls students, is to decrease travel times, leaving more time for learning; increase attendance and improve performance; increase retention of girls in primary and secondary; improve safety of students travelling to and from school and improve the livelihood of riders and their families.
Hadejia represented jigawa State Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar where he served as the Special Guest of Honour at the flag-off construction of UBE model Smart Hadejia School.
He laid the foundation of the UBE model Smart School while His Royal Highness Emir of Hadejia Dr Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje CON, served as the chairman of the occasion.
Also present at the gathering include the UBE Secretary, DG NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa,
and Deputy Speaker the Jigawa State of Assembly, and 7 local government chairmen.
The groundbreaking events also had the presence of legislative members, traditional rulers, religious leaders top government personnel, philanthropist, among others.
