Speaker Abbas sad over deaths of 40 Maulud travellers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has commiserated with leaders and members of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria over the death of 40 members of the Islamic body killed in a recent road accident.

Members of the Movement were on their way from Kwandari in Plateau State to a Maulud Nabiy event in Saminaka, Kaduna State, when their bus collided with a truck at Lere town in Kaduna State, leading to deaths and injuries.

The Speaker condoled the families of the victims as well as the people and the governments of Kaduna and Plateau states.

“It is indeed heartbreaking to lose 40 precious lives in one fell swoop. My prayers are with the families of the victims and the leaders of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria and beyond over this catastrophic accident,” the Speaker said.

While praying that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Jannatul Firdaus, Speaker Abbas called for caution from road users and urged the road and vehicle safety agencies in the country to step up their sensitisation campaigns.
