Tambuwal dumps PDP for ADC

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The former Governor of Sokoto State and Speaker of the House of Representatives moved on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Tambuwal cited the persistent factionalism and the failure of “sincere reconciliation” efforts within the PDP as his primary reasons for leaving.

He said despite various high-level interventions, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had remained embroiled in legal battles and leadership tussles that have hindered its role as a viable opposition.

Reacting to Tambuwal’s defection, the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) described it as “unfortunate and ill-timed.”
