They came on board excited, but they had no clear vision of what they wanted to do with Osun. The first sign came when the Transition Committee was inaugurated by the Governor-elect, as he was then called.
Reading from a prepared speech, Senator Ademola Adeleke charged the committee to come up with projects that he would do in the first 100 days, six months, and so on. That was the day I concluded that the government had no idea of what it intended to do.
Fifteen months down the line, I appear to have been vindicated. Just this evening, the government was further exposed as one lacking in content and character. I am not a graphics artist, but I know a few undergrads who can do something better than what was passed to us as a new logo. In fact, one of them is from Iwo, where the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olawale Rasheed, hails from.
I know they will come with an explanation either tonight or tomorrow morning. But the fact remains that Mr. Governor appears not to be in charge. He could not have approved of that water ink drawing; it appears to have been put together by a kindergarten.
Regardless, logically, a government that came in without an idea of what it wants to do will continue to falter and lie to the public to cover for its ineptitude and dubious tendencies, as getting empirical evidence to back up their dubious and fraudulent claims will continue to remain a daunting task for them.
I make bold to say that apart from ‘dance craft’, the administration appears to have nothing to offer. If anything, the last 15 months or so have further exposed the administration as one lacking in character, content, and capacity.
