Three in Kano police net after ‘buying’ N75m vehicle with fake alert

The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects, Ibrahim Tijjani, Jamilu Auwal, and Mohammed Nura Dauda, for allegedly buying a white Mercedes Benz GLE motor vehicle with a fake alert.

They were arrested on January 28, 2026, at Kabuga Quarters, Kano.

The suspects allegedly bought the vehicle from Gwarinpa, Abuja, for seventy-five million naira (₦75,000,000) using a fake alert sent by Ibrahim Yahaya, who’s at large.

The vehicle was recovered and handed over to FCT Police Command for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, commended the Police team for their dedication and professionalism.

He urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Station or through the Command’s emergency numbers: 08032419754, 08123821575 or 09029292926.

The police reassure the public of their commitment to protecting lives and property and urge residents to provide timely information to security agencies.
