
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and House of Representatives Speaker Abbas Tajudeen have congratulated the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 71st birthday and the commemoration of his 20th year on the highly revered throne.
The president, in a statement by his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale on Monday, described the first-class monarch, who is also the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, as a consummate statesman and a most respected national leader.
“I join a multitude of Nigerians, family members and friends in celebrating His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe. This is a remarkable moment which calls for thanksgiving in the celebration of a purposeful life that has been well lived,” the President stated.
The President noted that throughout his decorated career as a military official and upon his ascension to the revered throne of his forefathers two decades ago, the traditional ruler has remained steadfast in his service to Nigeria and his people.
President Tinubu prayed for more fulfilling years for the traditional ruler and urged him to rededicate himself in his effort to improve society.
Also, rhe Speaker Abbas Tajudeen congratulated the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and commended him for his fatherly role in the affairs of not just Niger State but also the entire country.
The Speaker, in a statement by his media aide Musa Abdullahi Krishi, noted that Alhaji Abubakar, a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, has shown commendable leadership both as a traditional and religious leader worthy of emulation, especially by the ruling class.
The Speaker also expressed his admiration for the respected royal father and his importance to the sociopolitical and religious stability of the country, particularly in his current role as the Chairman Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
Speaker Abbas prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant the Etsu Nupe more years of peaceful reign, while urging him to mobilise traditional rulers towards supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
