President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed 20 new aides, with investigative journalist AbdulAziz AbdulAziz emerging as Senior Special Assistant, Print Media.
Other aides :appointed by Tinubu include Dr. Adekunle Tinubu (Personal Physician to the President); Tunde Rahman (SSA Media); Damilotun Aderemi (Private Secretary); Ibrahim Masari (SSA Political Matters); Toyin Subair (SSA Domestic); and Demola Oshodi (SSA Protocol).
Others are Tope Ajayi (SSA Media & Public Affairs); Yetunde Sekoni (SSA); Motunrayo Jinadu (SSA); Segun Dada (SA Social Media); Paul Adekanye (SA Logistics); Friday Soton (SA Housekeeping) and Mrs. Shitta-Bey Akande (SA Catering).
The rest are Nosa Asemota (SA Visual Communication and Personal Photographer); Kamal Yusuf (Personal Assistant Special Duties); Wale Fadairo (Personal Assistant General Duties); Sunday Moses (Personal Assistant Videography); Taiwo Okanlawon (Personal Assistant State Photographer) and O’tega Ogra (SSA Digital/New Media)
Abdulaziz, an award-winning journalist and social media influencer, was until his present appointment the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Tinubu Presidential Campaign.
He had earlier served as the Deputy General Editor of Daily Trust Newspapers and an Associate Editor at Premium Times as well as media aide to former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, who was recently named the National Security Adviser (NSA).
Abdulaziz holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from the Bayero University, Kano.
He started his journalism career with The Executive, a rested weekly in Kano, before he joined Leadership newspapers in April 2008.
He rose from Correspondent to Regional Editor, based in Kano, before he left the newspaper in 2012.
After leaving Leadership Abdulaziz joined Blueprint Newspaper, holding a number of editorial positions until he left in 2017 as Deputy Editor.
He won the 2018 Wole Soyinka Prize for Investigative Reporting for his series exposing former Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, who skipped the mandatory national youth service and forged a certificate, among other awards
