The University of Maiduguri community has been thrown into mourning as Professor Ruth Haruna, a former head of the Department of Business Management, died as a result of accident at her residence in Polo, Maiduguri.
Reports by her family and the Borno State Police Command indicate that Prof. Ruth Haruna tragically lost her life when her own vehicle rolled over her after she parked it on her sloped driveway to open the gate to enter.
The Borno State Commissioner of Police (CP) Yusuf Lawal told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident occurred on Sunday.
He said she died from her injuries before being taken to the hospital, adding that her remains were taken to the hospital by members of her family
The university and local community converged to mourn with her husband Professor Wazis Haruna, three children and three grandchildren.
