“We commend the visionary leadership of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to champion inclusivity for youth and women in key leadership roles.
“We also extend our profound appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies for ensuring a transparent, fair, and merit-driven selection process. Their adherence to the rule of law and their commitment to allowing justice to prevail without interference have reinforced confidence in our nation’s institutions and governance systems.
“This appointment exemplifies the government’s steadfast commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people and women, affirming its status as a youth-centric and forward-thinking administration.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the Governing Council, Air Vice-Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (Rtd), and all council members of the University of Abuja for their decision rooted in fairness, equity, and meritocracy. By focusing solely on Prof. Maikudi’s qualifications and leadership potential, they have set an inspiring precedent for a progressive and unbiased Nigeria.
“For the UNYF, this is one of the most commendable appointments in recent history, and we are committed to reciprocating this gesture through continued support and advocacy to President Tinubu’s led government.
“This achievement, without doubt underscores the steady progress Nigeria is making toward a future where merit and innovation prevail over stereotypes and biases. We call on the university community, including students, staff, and stakeholders, to rally behind Vice Chancellor Maikudi and support her vision for transformative leadership.
“To our dear students, we appeal to you to be ambassadors of peace and constructive engagement. As young people, we bear the responsibility of safeguarding and amplifying these milestones.
