The Kaduna State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has disowned claims by former governor, Nasir El-Rufai, that its entire structure has collapsed into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The SDP, in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Adamu Idris in Kaduna on Monday, said El-Rufai only moved a few loyalists of his collapsing political structure out of the party.
“He [El-Rufai] only succeeded in moving out, a few of his loyalists who followed him to the party during his temporary sojourn, which is on record as the most disruptive period in the annals of the history of the SDP in Kaduna State,” the statement said.

El-Rufai Only Moved A Few Loyalists of His Collapsing Political Structure Out of the SDP.
The attention of the authentic Kaduna State SDP Executive Committee and genuine members of the Party, has been drawn to a greatly misleading statement by Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai, who, in his desperate effort to salvage his seriously dwindling political relevance in Kaduna State and nationally, made a spurious and false claim on Saturday August 23, 2025 at an inconsequential political gathering, that the “entire SDP structure in the state had collapsed into the ADC.”
Nothing of such a claim by Mallam El-Rufai has happened to the SDP structure in any part of Kaduna State. He only succeeded in moving out, a few of his loyalists who followed him to the party during his temporary sojourn, which is on record as the most disruptive period in the annals of the history of the SDP in Kaduna State.
Mallam Nasiru Ahmad Elrufai’s exit with his few followers from the SDP is indeed good riddance to bad rubbish.
We are happy that he has finally moved out and removed his leprous political fingers and the virus of disunity that he infested the Party with, as the sanity and peace of the SDP can now be restored, as we, the authentic leaders and genuine members, are poised to repositioning the party strongly to its pride of place as the truly credible opposition in the state.
We hereby assure the SDP family in Kaduna State and the general public that the structures of the party remain intact in the state, and the cankerworm era of the El-Rufai brief appearance in our party has ended for good, and a new lease of life has come.
The SDP, as a disciplined, well-run, and truly national party, will continue to promote the true interest of Nigeria and we will never submit to the blackmail, ego-tripping, parochial and anti-Nigeria agenda of a non-democrat, self-serving desperado, unrepentant bigot and tyranny personified.
