Italian forward Gianluca Scamacca has moved to West Ham United, the English football club said late Tuesday.
“The 23-year-old joins the Hammers on a five-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year, for an undisclosed fee from Serie A club Sassuolo,” West Ham said in a statement.
Scamacca said he is “excited to join West Ham” and cannot wait to play in front of the club supporters.
“I’ve waited a long time for this moment – it’s been a dream to play in the Premier League,” he added.
The Italian international scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for Sassuolo. He also played for Italian clubs Ascoli and Genoa, and as well as PSV Eindhoven’s youth teams in the Netherlands.
