The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has pledged to establish a prestigious Islamic university in Jigawa State.
This was disclosed by Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi on Saturday. He said the “historic decision” was made during his visit to WAMY Office in Kano.
“WAMY’s commitment to Nigeria dates back to 1973, and they have actively engaged in humanitarian activities across the country. In Jigawa, they constructed mosques, installed over fifty boreholes, and now plan to conduct an eye camp and medical outreach in September.
“I express my profound gratitude to WAMY for their offer to establish the Islamic university and provide scholarships to our citizens. Jigawa will fully support their mission and look forward to the positive impact this endeavor will have on our educational landscape,” the governor said.
WAMY, a non-governmental Youth and Students Organization, with headquarters in Saudi Arabia, was founded in 1972.
